Reverberation is sounds interaction with the space around where the sound comes from. Sound is a group of waves that travel thru a medium so it bounces all around where it is housed. Reverb usually means we are talking about the reflections that occur in an indoor space. But reverberation happens outdoors too because sound can bounce off trees or buildings or anything else.
