As explained in the following video, digital pianos come with a wide array of sounds. The most important of these sounds is the acoustic piano sound as these are the most widely used, for example in pop music, jazz, and classical music. How does a digital piano accurately represent an acoustic piano? Through its use of samples. The higher the quality, the better the quality of the digital piano. Digital pianos has samples of each note, in varying volumes or “dynamic ranges.” Digital pianos come with varying types of sound (warm, dark, etc.) Digital pianos allow for customization of sound. All in all, the type of digital piano one purchases should match the type of sound that you wish to play.
