He writes a nice piece about how laying down a track without actual acoustic drums can be a pain and your sound may take a hit for it. He broadly explains the problem of keeping a drummer around the whole time and his or her drums available when needed (who’s not been there?) and how the electronic options that are available today, like a drum machine that hooks up to your comp, works just as well to get you going.
