Check out this post on rekkerd.org which mentions the release of an audio effects software package plug-in called Dirty Bits, put out by Mecha Audio. The three effects are Compressor (using gain and damage control), Vintage Bit Crusher (which emulates classic hardware devices), and Vinyl Device (which adds vinyl damage and hum). The cost to buy the software is 20 bucks. Not bad me thinks.
