Building a Recording Studio from scratch-Acoustics Forum-Acoustic Fields Forum

Hello, and thank you for paying attention to my post!

I am currently in the design and budgeting process of building a recording studio from scratch. It is going to be an “Out-building” or “Accessory Building” in a backyard. The Max height allowed by Zoning regulations is 15′. Optimally the Square Footage should not exceed 200′ sq, but this is pretty flexible. We currently have several designs for building to contain the studio, including an Octagonal building with 8′ wide walls. As we are a small start-up with dreams that reach beyond the stars, we are looking to get the biggest bang for our buck that we can. We need to at least have a Control Room, a Live Room, at least one Vocal Iso, and a Sound Lock. It is preferred that we also have a Drum Iso room, but not required. I have a very good understanding of soundproofing, but acoustic design is eluding me due to all of the conflicting information available. Again, this project is from scratch, so the design is basically open.
