I was hoping someone could give me some advice . I have a client who is deciding what speaker size (and number of speakers) and what acoustic treatment would be most appropriate for a new space they are constructing. We feel comfortable making educated guesses, but would really appreciate the advice of a serious acoustician. Here are the dimensions of the proposed spce:
“Speakers. I need some help on this one, please. We have a somewhat odd shaped space (all of this is going into a building which has not yet been built) that will be, as one of its many uses, a small performance space and we would like to have speakers that will usable for live performances, if necessary. I know nothing about speaker modeling, so I have no idea what we need! I have included a copy of the floorplan with the room in question outlined in red. The numbers are a bit difficult to read:
The dimension numbers along the top (north end) of that room read : 8’-9.5”; 12’-11.5”; 12’-9.5”; 7’-0”
The dimensions along the west wall are (from north to south): 11’-2”; 21’-3.5”
The south end of that space is 32’-2”
The ceilings are to be about 13’ high
I am hoping that you may be able to give us an idea as to how many speakers would give us good coverage of that space – and also give us a recommendation as to some speakers that might be suitable.”
Any advice you could give would be great.
Thanks
Stephen Falk
