Hi Dennis and all,
I’ve just been binging through your academy YouTube vids today and think they are great.
I have a room intended for music listening with the following attributes:
Upright piano against front wall
Bay windows with ceiling-to-floor velvet curtains rear wall
Ceiling with sound absorption
plaster (BASWA acoustic plaster)
Door on side wall at corner with front wall
Length – 14.7ft
Width – 11.8ft narrowing to 10.5ft over chimney breast
Height – 8.2ft
Dry wall
Sound insulated floors and walls (not ceiling)
Carpeted floor
Having auditioned a Steinway-Lyngdorf system with boundary woofers, I felt that there was too much bass energy even with DSP room correction (RoomPerfect) applied.
I would be interested in your views on how to improve this room and what type of speakers would best suit this room. I intend to use it for 2ch stereo music listening. But I also use BACCH4Mac which works best with first reflections eliminated.
Cheers
