Hello, Mr. Foley,
In a 2-channel listening room
, when you’re designing a front wall of diffusers, in addition to the room dimensions ,will you need the listener to give you his seating distance from the front wall?? Assuming that you need it, what do you do with this distance measurement? Does it help to determine the thickness of the diffusers?
Thanks, Phil Starr
Determine the distance from the face of the diffuser
to your ears. Check the table to see which diffuser
you can use for that distance. https://www.acousticfields.com…..-distance/
The QD-7 is 4/1/2″ deep, the QD-11 is 9″ deep, the 13 is 12″ deep.
Hello, again,
I’m confused. Please help.
About 10 days ago, in a phone conversation you recommended 4 #38 Diffuser/absorbers (12″D) in the front wall (actually a curtained sliding glass door) and 4 #6 panels for each
side wall. These latter also 12″ D. At the time there was no mention of having to factor in the listening position. The listening position is about 11feet from the front wall/window curtain, but maybe the specific dimensions of this particular room (13.5’W x 14’H x20’L) supersede any other considerations . Or would concern about the listening position have arisen as a vital detail in the manufacture of the panels?
Thanks for being so responsive.
