Just ordered you DIY combo pack. Looking down the materials list I see Alder listed. I was about to order some bonded Alder and realized red oak is also available. Red oak is denser than alder, and cheaper in our area. Would it help the QD was built with a denser wood?

The specs also use 1/2″ material for the outside box. Would 3/4″ wood keep the box more inert if the dividers remain 1/4″?
