We mostly listen to lower volumes, a little higher for sci-fi, action, etc…the room is in a lower den. Room is 14ft x 15ft with 8ft ceiling, and a hardwood floor. About 12 feet back at the listening area (couch) there is an open regular sized hallway to the right (listening area #1) going down to a bathroom. There’s also a regular sized stairwell going up to the next level to the right of listening area #1. There’s an upper opening/banister above the couch 3ft down from the ceiling (about 10 feet across). There’s also a window on the wall to the left of the viewing area at listening area #2 – about 2 ft wide 4ft long. Looking to get an Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar and caught between keeping my REL HT-1003 (new in box) 10 ” sub or getting an HSU ULS-15 MK2 15″ sub.
1) Which would be ideal for this space and would the HSU be too much? I’m thinking I need to leave most of the solid walls and ceiling alone as per the technology the Ambeo uses to bounce sound waves (this is critical).
2) Also, please looking for some advice please on how much treatment I may need with having the Ambeo, and where in this space. 80% movies 20% music.
