Hi,

I recently bought a house with an unfinished basement. We are under contract, and planning on moving in on July 6. All the inspections etc have been completed and everything is ready to go. My plan is to try to convert the basement area into a listening/mixing room. Although it is completely unfinished other than basic electrical and insulation on the outer walls, the dimensions are making it hard for me to decide on a floor plan that will maximize the acoustics. I was hoping for some advice about what the optimal basic setup would be for a stereo listening/mixing room under these conditions. I can get quite a bit of space down there by volume, but it won’t be incredibly symmetrical unless I cut down the space considerably.

I’m not sure how to upload a picture on here, but here is a google drive link to a picture with the layout and dimensions currently: https://drive.google.com/file/…..sp=sharing

Thanks,

David
